Poverty in America

"Poverty in America" should be unheard of.  A nation that can afford to throw money away on the killing, maiming, and mutilation of innocent men, women, and children should be able to withhold that money and redirect it toward the betterment of its people.  There is no excuse for poverty in America.  It is unnecessary and downright obscene!  It should make every thinking person miserable!  We should all be walking around with our chins dragging on the ground instead of puffed up, beating our chests and shouting "God BLESS America!"  Bleh!

  1. Stephen Colbert had this to say about Jesus--which I think was right on, "But if this is going to be a Christian Nation that doesn’t help the poor, either we’ve got to pretend that Jesus was just as selfish as we are, or we’ve got to acknowledge that he commanded us to love the poor and serve the needy without condition…and then admit that we just don’t want to do it."

    Stephen was right-on.
